# Quantum information processing

### From FreeBio

**Quantum information processing** is concerned with what we can and cannot do with quantum information. Subfields include:

- Quantum computing
- Quantum computational complexity
- Quantum cryptography
- Quantum error correction
- Quantum communication complexity

Quantum teleportation is one well-known quantum information processing operation which reliably transfers an unknown quantum state from one point to another distant point, destroying the original state in the process.
